Hospital observation (per hour)

Each hour a patient spends in hospital observation status - watched and treated without being formally admitted.
CPT/HCPCS G0378 · Emergency & hospital · 97 hospitals in Mississippi · from hospitals' own price files
Part of an emergency visit? At a hospital outside your plan's network, emergency care and what follows from it is not paid at these prices: under the No Surprises Act your insurer uses a benchmark of its own (the QPA), shown on your statement as an in-network “allowed amount”. Why your bill may not match.

By health system

The chosen price across each system's hospitals in the area.

Prices come from the machine-readable standard-charge files each hospital must publish (45 CFR 180), dated 2024-11-01 to 2026-10-19. A negotiated rate is what an insurer pays the hospital, not what you owe: your deductible, copay and coinsurance decide that. "Typical" is the median across insurers. The cash price is the hospital's discounted price for paying without insurance; the gross charge is its list price. Some hospitals state part of their insurer pricing only as a percentage of charges or a formula; those rates have no dollar figure and are not shown. A grey ring is a hospital with no price for this procedure; click it to see why.
